My father says that almost the whole world is asleep. Everybody you know. Everybody you see. Everybody you talk to. He says that only a few people are awake and they live in a state of constant total amazement.
This morning one of my facebook “friends” posted a quote from Bill Nye the Science Guy:
Science is the key to our future, and if you don't believe in science, then you're holding everybody back. And it's fine if you as an adult want to run around pretending or claiming that you don't believe in evolution, but if we educate a generation of people who don't believe in science, that's a recipe for disaster. We talk about the Internet. That comes from science. Weather forecasting. That comes from science. The main idea in all of biology is evolution. To not teach it to our young people is wrong.Ok, tangentially, applying Ephesians 5:14, here is your assignment. Your kids are getting hammered on a daily basis with this type of thought in school, in games that they play, the movies they watch, in the conversations they have with their friends. How would you as an awake thinker, respond to Mr. Nye? How would you equip your kids to think critically about what he has said here?
I will respond tomorrow…
