Page out of my journal noticing the parallels...
You ever notice that there are passages that are nearly parallel in their meaning and even in their vocabulary?

I noticed this the other day reading through 1 Corinthians 3:1 – 3.  It occurred to me that Hebrews 5:12 – 14 was nearly word for word the same.

It seems to me that when the messages of two passages are that close, we perhaps should pay attention.

  1. Wrapping up my study in Mark 8 for my AM Bible study I was impressed by the disciples' on-going perplexity regarding Jesus' compassion for the physical needs of people and His ability to miraculously multiply physical resources in feeding the 5000++ people in Ch. 6:30 ff., then again in Ch. 8 with the 4000 and yet again with the disciples alone in vs. 14-21.

Slow learners, perhaps. But human, for sure. And am I any different at all? I wish it were so. After three repetitions of the same truth I'm just getting started....
