We do not accept the grace that God extends. We reason that we must do something to earn what He has already provided through the life, death, resurrection, ascension, and enthronement of His Son. In so doing, we are creating our own atonement, our own gospel, our own religion. Much better to accept the lavish grace, not to do so unspeakably endangers our soul.
