Checking the dictionary I found that "but" is one word indicating contrast.

I did a quick search in English in the Bible for "but." There were just a tad under 4000 hits.

Then I looked at John 17 and 18 specifically, and although the were 20 or so "buts" (maybe more), I really didn't see a correlation with what you listed.

So what is a potential lesson for the exercise in trivia? Perhaps that there are a whole lot more, maybe significant, contrasts than one word can express and it's not good to get too focused, short-sighted.

It will take me a while to sort those out; but obviously its a significant concept in Scripture.

Thanks, Mike.chuckhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04631165961382647198noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8400340423678181828.post-72232880824603784582016-05-10T10:47:54.587-05:002016-05-10T10:47:54.587-05:00Thanks, nothing you could not see for yourself...Thanks, nothing you could not see for yourself...Mike Cunninghamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05971102076711413290noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8400340423678181828.post-43767252675663809172016-05-10T09:20:19.874-05:002016-05-10T09:20:19.874-05:00Great observations!Great observations!Konstantinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12840677349714746404noreply@blogger.com
